New DLHI: BJP MLA from Ghaziabad Nand Kishore Gurjar wrote to the DCP, which requested a ban on animal slaughter, meat shops and slaughterhouses near Hindon Airport in Loni on 17 June.The MLA cited the possible threat of bird hits due to open slaughter activities and also expressed concern over communal harmony in the region.In his letter to DCP (Rural), Gurjar said, “When we respect the beliefs and traditions of all communities, Loni is a highly sensitive area where communal harmony has been interrupted in the past. Aircraft ordinance should be implemented here to prevent any accident due to bird attraction near the airport.”He further urged the administration to take preventive action as per the directions of the Supreme Court and the rules of the state government, probably highlighted concerns over cow slaughter and demanded strict adherence to prevent cruelty, 1960.
