Mumbai Airport will be closed for 6 hours on May 9, Mumbai News

New Delhi: Flight services in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will be suspended for six hours on May 9 Pre -monsoon runway maintenance Activities, as declared by Mial on Saturday.
The airport operator Mial confirmed that a NOTAM (notice to the airman) was distributed six months ago, allowing the airlines to revise their schedule and make sufficient time to make necessary arrangements.
Maintenance activities will be conducted on both runways- between 09/27 and 14/22–11 pm, during which neither primary nor secondary runways will be operational.
Annual pre-monsoon maintenance is necessary to maintain the durability and functionality of the airport airside facilities.
Technical experts will conduct intensive assessment of runway surfaces to deteriorate and apply preventive solutions for water accumulation to ensure aircraft safety during monoon operations, as stated by MIAL.
