More than 15,000 USDA workers accept Trump-Eughes pay for quitting their jobs

More than 15,000 employees in the US Department of Agriculture have accepted financial incentives to quit their posts as part of President Donald Trump’s federal task force. According to a USDA briefing, the Congress employees were shared and reviewed by Reuters, it represents about 15% of the total employees of the department.
Departure follows two rounds, which the administration has said Definished resignation programIn February, about 3,900 employees signed agreements to leave. The number increased in April, with more than 11,300 additional contracts finalized, leading to a total of 15,182. The USDA has said that this figure may still increase because old employees were given more time to take decisions and some who had agreed to resign, they were not yet to sign their contracts.
A spokesperson confirmed the resignation and said that Agriculture Secretary Brook is focused on improving the efficiency of the Department of Rollins. The exit include hundreds of frontline farm service agency employees and thousands of natural resource conservation service, both play an important role in assisting American farmers.
This step comes with a widespread cut in government departments, intelligence agencies also targeted. The Trump administration has allegedly planned to reduce CIA employees by 1,200 over the years, while thousands of roles in NSA and other agencies can also be axed. The CIA stated that some cuts would come from initial retirement and slow down hiring, and defend downsizing as a “overall strategy” to better align with national security priorities.
Variety, equity and inclusion programs in intelligence bodies have also been abolished, although legal challenges continue. Meanwhile, the administration has removed several top officials, including the head of the NSA and the cyber command, carrying forward the scope of the shake-up.
While the job market remains a nationwide relatively stable – with 177,000 new jobs in April – concerns are increasing that Trump’s tariff policies and domestic expenses cut can eventually calm the economic speed. Economists have warned that shrinking the federal task force can cause damage to job growth and trigger wide results, especially for public funding or contract -dependent areas.
For now, the unemployment rate is 4.2%lower. But the long -term impact of the musk -backed federal deductions under the Department of Government Efficiency may still reveal intensive results for American workers and government services.
