“The umpire, Pehle Mere Mees Pucho Na (Ask me before),” Iyer said to the umpire who had accepted the Maxwell’s review request without consulting the captain, unlike the standard protocol.
Abhishek Sharma’s 141 innings now stands as the third largest individual score in IPL history, in 2013 after Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175 for Royal Challengers Bangalore and 158 of Brendon McCullum for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008.
This victory proved to be important for Sunrisers Hyderabad as it ended the streak of four matches. The team successfully followed the target, reaching 247–2 in 18.3 overs.
The victory marked the second win of Hyderabad season, which was coming against Rajasthan Royals in his initial game last month. The result has deployed Sunrisers Hyderabad in eighth place in the points table. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings suffered their second loss in five matches, and now finished sixth in Standing.
