Announcing his nomination on 22 November, Trump praised Besant as “a strong lawyer of the first agenda”.However, Besent has faced some doubts from the conservatives. When Trump first considered him for the role, it criticized Elon Musk, the billionaire tapped the newly established department of the government’s proficiency to co-in-law.“Bessent is a business-like-normal option,” Musk said, “Business-like-common America is getting bankrupt, so we need to change in a way or in another way.”
