Despite never serving in Parliament, Carney persuaded voters that his background as a crisis manager made him the best candidate to face Trump’s dangers. Their promise of protecting Canadian workers, cutting middle class taxes, maintaining dental care and returning immigration to clearly resonant permanent levels in the ballot box.
