Medical Representative Center is forbidden from hospitals operated from the center. Bharat News

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health has issued orders preventing medical representatives from entering the premises of central-operated hospitals. The order issued by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Sunita Sharma asks the officials for strict directions in this matter. “Medical representatives can be requested to share recent advances about any treatment, examination or email or other digital media about any treatment, examination or procedure,” it is said in order.Vinay Aggarwal, the previous national president of the Indian Medical Association, said that the entry of medical representatives should be regulated and not banned. “If some medical representatives adopted illegal means such as giving gifts to sell their products, they should be taken action, but I don’t think it is wise to ban their entry to talk about products,” he said.Pharmaceutical and medical device companies spend a lot of money on marketing of their products. It has often been alleged that their representatives push by offering gifts for the sale of their respective products and even doctors to travel abroad for conferences and workshops.
