Famous actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, known as ‘Bharat Kumar’, died on Friday at the age of 87.
The actor celebrated for his patriotic films, allegedly breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after battling a prolonged illness.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit confirmed the news, paying tribute to the legendary star. In a video statement posted by ANI, he said, “The Legendary Dadasaheb Phalke Award The winners, our inspiration and ‘Sher’ of the Indian film industry, are no more Manoj Kumar ji. This is a lot of disadvantage to the industry, and the entire film fraternity will miss it. ,
Manoj Kumar, a hardcore of Indian cinema, was known for his prestigious roles N films, which developed deep patriotism. His remarkable works include Shaheed (1965), Cess (1967), Purba and Paschim (1970), and Bread Capada and House (1974), all of which left an indelible mark on Hindi cinema.
On July 24, 1937, in Amritsar, Punjab, Manoj Kumar, Harikrishna Goswami made a place for himself in Hindi cinema.
His prestigious roles in films like Shaheed, Cess and Rang de Basanti resonated deeply with the patriotic sentiments of the Indian public.
During his career, Kumar was known for his acting and Disha in both films, focusing on the spirit of national pride and unity.
Kumar’s contribution to Indian cinema earned him several prestigious appreciation, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards in various categories.
In recognition of his immense contribution to Indian arts, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri in 1992.
When he was given the highest recognition in Indian cinema, his legacy was further united.
