Man arrested for arson at the residence of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, arrested for terrorism

The Pennsylvania police arrested a 38 -year -old Kodi Balmer, including murder, terrorism, and increased arson. Pennsylvania Governor Josh ShapiroOfficials say the governor and his family were inside the Georgian -style mansion in Harrisburg, when a separate part of the building caught fire around 2:00 pm on Sunday.
The state police said the fire caused the “a significant amount of loss”, but successfully extinguished. There was no injury.
Governor Shapiro, a prominent Democrat, who was considered a potential vice-president-president Pick in 2024, credited a state soldier with alerting his sleeping family and ensuring their safe withdrawal. He said in a statement, “Thank God that no one was injured and the fire was extinguished.”
Later speaking outside the residence, with a lattice and broken window behind it, Shapiro condemned the growth Political violenceHe said, “This type of violence is becoming very common in our society, and if it is coming from a particular side or the other, I do not give a curse … it’s not right, and it has to be stopped,” he said.
Officials said Balmer extended a fence to enter the property, carrying “homemade fire -set equipment”. He spent several minutes to develop law enforcement before allegedly set the blaze.
District Attorney Frank Chardo confirmed that Balmar is in custody and said that a criminal complaint was being prepared. The allegations will also involve increased attacks against a “enumerated person” – a legal term often refers to public authorities or law enforcement officers.
The 51 -year -old Shapiro was elected a Governor after defeating a remote candidate supported by former President Donald Trump in 2022.
