The Malaysian economy minister said on Wednesday that he was resigning from his cabinet post after losing his post as the Vice President of the ruling PKR to the Premier’s daughter in the party poll.Referring to his People’s Justice Party, Rafiji Ramli said in a statement, “My defeat in the recent PKR party elections means that I no longer have the mandate to translate people’s agenda from my party – Champion by PKR – in government policy.”,Like practice in countries that maintain democratic principles, leaders who lose in party elections should make way for those who win their place in government. ,The party’s president is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and his daughter, Nurul Izah Anwar won the post of Deputy President last week with 10,000 votes, while Rafiji received around 4,000.Earlier this month, Rafiji said that if he loses his party’s position, he would leave the post from the cabinet. He said on Wednesday that his resignation would be effective from June 17.The competition between Rafiji and Nurul Izah was heated, in which critics accused nepotism and eyebrows to raise the possibility of siblings. However, the Prime Minister has rejected any suggestion of wrongdoing or brother -in -law. Nurul Izah is not a stranger for politics, when his father was imprisoned in the late 1990s, he grew prominently.A three-term MP, he recognized his enthusiastic champion of political reform.
