Kusal Mendis exits PSL, Jose Butler changes cricket news for IPL 2025 playoffs

Gujarat Titans ,Mendis will join GT for Rs 75 lakh.England and Wales Cricket Board has issued an objection certificate to the English players in the IPL till only 25 May, which was initially set as the last date for the tournament.Mendis, who will make his IPL debut, recently played for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League 2025. His last appearance for the franchise was on 7 May, after which he opted to return to Pakistan citing personal security concerns.Despite being two wicketkeepers in Anuj Rawat and Kumar Kushagra near Titans in Gujarat, Mendis brings enough international experience. He performed impressive in PSL, scoring 143 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 168.Quiz: Who is that IPL player?In his international career, Mendis has played 78 T20 internationals, which is 1,920 runs at an average of 25.60 and a strike rate of 131.68. He has scored 15 half -centuries at the T20 internationally.
Butler’s departure makes a significant difference in the Gujarat Titans lineup. He has scored 500 runs in 11 innings during IPL 2025, maintaining a strike rate of 71.43 and 163.93 on an average.Gujarat’s Titans currently lead the IPL standing, with eight wins and three out of 11 matches. His next match is against Delhi Capital on 18 May at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
