KL Rahul revealed that he had to convince Athiya Shetty to name his baby girl Iwara: ‘But her parents and my parents loved it’
Cricketer KL Rahul recently opened up about how he and his wife Athiya Shetty reached Ivara for his baby girl. Rahul and Aathiya Welcoming his daughter, Iwara Vipula RahulOn March 24, 2025, and announcement quit internet blushing.Rahul, who is currently playing for the Delhi Capital in the 2025 IPL season, was seen interacting with fans and media, where he shared backstory behind his child’s name. In a video shared on X (East Twitter) by one of his fans, Rahul was seen saying, “It was a name that I had just stumbled. We had known through some books sent by some close friends. Then I gogled Ivara and investigated what is meaning,” Rahul said.Although he felt a quick relationship with the name, it was not an easy decision for Athiya. He said, “I loved it when I saw it. It took me some time to convince Athiya. But his parents and my parents loved it. Then he fell in love with that name,” he said.The couple shared a subtle glimpse of their daughter on Rahul’s birthday last month. Even though he has not revealed his face, his falsehood glimpse on a cloth and on the internet.Athiya’s father, actor Sunil Shetty also expressed his happiness: “Recently becoming a grandfather is a feeling that I cannot even describe.
