Israel PM: New security chief should be appointed as ‘earliest’

Israel’s premiere said his pick should be appointed as “as soon as possible” for the next domestic intelligence chief, but there will be no hand in the investigation of his colleagues.Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to tap the army chief General David Zini to lead the Shin Bet – which follows his effort to dismiss the head Ronan bar legal and politically – has already threatened a legal challenge.A statement from Netanyahu’s office said, “It is mandatory to take the name of a permanent head of the calf as soon as possible.”
