Sydon: Israel on Friday killed a commander of Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in a pre-hit strike in Lebanese port city Sidon, killing his adult son and daughter.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salaam condemned the strike as a “Lebanese sovereignty attack attack” and a violation of the November 27 ceasefire with Israel.
The Israeli army said in a statement, “Overnight, (army and domestic security agency Shin Bet) launched a target strike in the Sidon region, in which the commander of the western region of Hamas in Lebanon ended terrorist Hasan Farhat.”
It said that Farhat had carried out several attacks on Israeli soldiers and citizens during hostility after the outbreak of war in Gaza in October 2023.
