Israel closed 6 United Nations schools for Palestinians in East Jerusalem World News

Jeruslam: Israel on Thursday shut down six United Nations schools in East Jerusalem, forcing Palestinian students to quit early and throw more than 800 others’ education in question.Last month, officials of the heavy armed Israeli Police and Ministry of Education ordered the closure of six schools in East Jerusalem within 30 days, which ended on Wednesday. The United Nations Agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA, runs six schools. UNRWA also runs a school in Israel -occupied West Bank, which continues to operate. Israel gave a closed order after Israel banned UNRWA from working on its soil earlier this year, the culmination of a long campaign against the agency after October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel ignited the war in Gaza. Israel claims that UNRWA schools teach antisementic content and anti -Israel spirit, which denies UNRWA. The UNRWA is the main provider of education and health care for Palestinian refugees in Eastern Jerusalem, which Israel caught in the Middle East War of 1967. Israel has attached Eastern Jerusalem and considers the entire city as its integrated capital. The Ministry of Education of Israeli says that it will keep students in other Jerusalem schools. But parents, teachers and administrators take precautions that closing the main schools in Eastern Jerusalem will force their children to pass through crowds and dangerous posts daily, and some do not have the right permits to pass near. In the previous statement of the Associated Press, the Ministry of Education said it was shutting down schools as they were working unlicensed. UNRWA administrators promised to keep schools open as long as possible.
