Ishaan Khat revealed a conflict with Royals makers on objective in the show: ‘I could wear a shirt in some scenes’.

Ishan Khatna is constantly carving himself at a place for himself on the global stage – not only with his performance, but also with the principles that he brings into his craft. From Hollywood debuts that attract their attention to standing ovation in Cannes, young actors are unaware of speaking, even when it means challenging creative decisions. He recently opened up about pushing back against objective in Royals, and was going through a dramatic physical change for his next film, homebound.Speaking to Mashable India, Ishaan shared that while the character he played was written as someone who rarely wore a shirt, he pushed back during filming. He explained that he discussed with the manufacturers in a few days, insisting that being shirtless was not necessary for some scenes. Despite the creative methods, the team tried to justify it – such as to use a blanket during sleep scenes – Ishan admitted that he clung to his commitment, but ensured his discomfort. Finally, he said that he enjoyed the experience, even with those moments of disagreement. The Royals consisted of a star-stad cast including Bhumi Pednekar, Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihan Samat, Dino Moriya and Milind Soman. Despite facing negative reviews from critics-he slammed the show for his shallow plot and excellent performances-it managed to become one of the most seen shows of Netflix, which proved that star power and bright appeals still attract the audience. For his role in Royals, Ishaan took intensive training to manufacture muscles and maintained a fabricated physique for his shirtless scenes. However, his next project demanded a complete physical change. For Neeraj Gaywan’s house, Ishaan had to excuse the muscle to portray the reliable character everyday. He revealed that the director specifically asked him to lose bulk and look “normal” for the role. Committed to the part, Ishaan dropped 8 kg to fit the vision.Neeraj Gaywan’s second feature film, Homebound, had a world premiere at the recently held 78th Cannes Film Festival, where it earned a notable nine -minute standing ovation. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar, in which famous filmmaker Martin Scorsce has increased significant weight for his global appeal.
