Canadian Parliament under lockdown after man barricades under lockdown

The Canadian Parliament was placed under the lockdown on Saturday, when a man stopped himself inside the East block on Parliament Hill, warning a major security response and the public to cover the public.

The region was soon evacuated, and in the evening a “shelter-in-place” order remained in force in the evening as heavy armed authorities dropped out of the site.
According to CTV News, at 2.45 pm, the Parliamentary protective service issued an emergency warning, “looking for shelter in the nearest room, urged to close and lock and hide all doors.
The New York Post reported that by Saturday evening, the police confirmed that there were no known injuries, and said the situation was vested. However, the lockdown remained as the authorities continued the incident with the highest level of caution.
Canadian Senator Patrick Brees posted on X, “Stay Safe Ottawa,” sharing a photo of an emergency alert released during the incident.
Law enforcement sources told Global News that, while the immediate threat was brought under control, the officers were moving forward, although this was the “potential situation” to ensure complete security.

The residents were asked to clarify about the area. The Ottawa police said that until the next notice, road closures remained on Wellington Street from Bank Street to Sussex Drive.
