IPL 2025: Sunil Narin makes T20 history with this rare bowling feat vs SRH

Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narin has become the highest wicket for the same team in men’s T20 cricket during KKR’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi on Sunday. The West Indian all-rounder claimed two important wickets, who took a total of 210 wickets out of 198 matches for KKR. Narin crossed the previous record organized by Summit Patel of England, who took 208 wickets for Nottinghamshire. Those who took the top five wickets for a single team include 199 wickets with Narnine, Patel, Chris Wood, 199 wickets for Hampshire, 195 with Lasith Malinga for Mumbai Indians and David Payne with 193 for Glostersarer. Narin, who has been with KKR since 2012, has played an important role in the success of the franchise with his mystery spin bowling and affordable performance. Impressively, he has been nominated three times as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the IPL – in 2012, 2018 and 2024, an achievement unmatched by any other player in the league.

In Sunday’s match, he dismissed Abhishek Sharma for 32 runs and Travis Head for 76 runs from 40 balls, finishing with 2/42 figures in his four overs. In the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad marked the third highest clan in IPL history by posting a total of 278/3 in its 20 overs.
