According to a death certificate received by TMZ from Los Angeles County Department of Health, the official cause of death for acclaimed actor Val Kilmer has been confirmed as pneumonia.
Kilmer, who was known for his prestigious roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever and The Doors, died on 1 April on 1 April. His daughter had earlier revealed that he died after a fight with pneumonia.
The underlying conditions in the death certificate listed the acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, chronic respiratory failure and squamous cell carcinoma that contributes to their death. Additional factors consisted of malnutrition and a trachocutaneous fistula-a condition as a result of a long-term tracheostomy.
According to the documents received by the portal, Val was cremated on 7 April.
It was also reported that Kilmer was struggling with serious health issues for many years before he suddenly passed. He was detected throat cancer in 2015, for which he had treated, which caused great damage to his vocal cords. By the time he reiterated his role as an Iceman in the top gun: Maverick (2022), filmmakers had to use AI technology to re -create their voice. Sources close to the actor also told the portal that he had reached his death for months.
