IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians first received historic news against Rajasthan Royals in 13 years

Mumbai Indians won 100 runs over Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, with Captain Hardik Pandya became the third MI captain only to achieve this achievement at RR’s home ground. The victory featured top -order batsmen and bowlers Trent Bault and Karn Sharma, who each claimed three wickets.
In Pandya’s unbeaten 23 balls, 48 contributed to a total of 217/2 of MI’s influential in the first innings. The team’s bowling attack destroyed RR, bowling for just 117 runs in 16.1 overs.

This victory is an important milestone as only two previous MI captains, Harbhajan Singh in 2012 and Sachin Tendulkar in 2010, RR in Jaipur, managed to defeat RR. Since then, MI won the Royals, but won the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad (in 2014) and Die Patil Stadium (in 2022) in Mumbai. As far as Jaipur is concerned, RR had won five directly over MI at Sawai Mansingh Stadium before a strong loss on Thursday evening.
MI captain Pandya performed his all -round abilities by taking Shubam Dubey’s wicket in his sole over.
“Everyone is very clear and we are going back to simple cricket, it is working for us and hopefully it will continue. We want to be humble, very disciplined and they are focusing. We can get another 15 runs. We were trying to talk to each other that they were not about shots. What is necessary in the situation.
“We have to give credit to the way the MI is played. The way he batted, he scored a little deepening, scored 10 runs, and finally accelerated. As far as our batting is concerned, it was not our day,” RR captain Ryan Parag accepted.
With this victory, Mumbai Indians won six matches in the tournament. Despite losing four of their first five matches, they have now climbed to the top of the points table.
