Kolkata: Mitchell Marsh is not able to bowl due to a back injury in the current Indian Premier League (IPL), but is more and more for it with his appearance with the bat. Lucknow Super Giants‘(LSG) opener has so far scored 184 runs in four innings, with three half -centuries, a duck has been faced against Punjab Kings.

You are in great form this season. Did you prepare for IPL in a particular way?
The way I did normally, I prepared. In addition, I had my back injury, and I had time to correct it and prepare it accordingly.
How is the injury now?
So far, all are good. I am not yet sure when I will be able to bowl, although later in the tournament.
How does it feel as an effect player?
This is a new experience. It is the dream of every batsman to bat nor fall in the field. So, it’s so far having good fun.
Do you think the impact player is affecting the rule All rounder,
No, I still think that the real all-rounders are playing a big role. If you are convinced with an all -rounder’s four overs, you may have an additional batsman. I think there is a role for all -rounders in the IPL.
Do you violate a 300 -run mark this season?
I hope to see a team doing so, whether we or someone else. I hope there will not be 300 against us. The teams are advancing the border these days and are becoming extremely difficult with the first ball. With the development of the game, it is really exciting to be part of it.
Digvesh Rathi has been fined twice for the routine of sending him. Was it appropriate on him?
I think this is a good line (which is acceptable and what is not) as we want personality. We ask the players to be ourselves. Digwesh is relatively unknown for this IPL (AS) and has done great so far. But he will learn from being fined. He is really a good boy and is very excited to play in the IPL.
Not in an attack with you and Mayank Yadav, LSG is lacking?
Every team depends on its depth. We suffered some injuries in our bowling unit, but we will slowly get back people. The sky deep returned to the previous game and had a really good effect. Whenever Mayank comes back, we will be with full force. At this stage we take confidence from the fact that our squad has depth.
Your father (former Australian opener Jyoff Marsh) never played T20, how does he like this format?
Yes, he enjoys all (forms) of cricket. He likes to be involved with the game. I am sure he wants the IPL there when he was around.
Often the sons of great batsmen become fast bowlers …
There is no real reason. When I was younger, I bowled because I loved joining the game. Big Brother (Sean) probably liked to bat more than a bowl, so I had to bowl him a lot.
