Chennai Super Kings lost the eighth game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Wednesday evening, losing 4-cicat to Punjab Kings. The CSK remains under the IPL standing after the latest outing with four points out of 10 matches.
In this process, CSK suffered a third direct defeat of the IPL season. He has won only two wins this season – by defeating Mumbai Indians and Lucknow super veterans – with five and three consecutive defeat runs respectively.

Can CSK get qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs?
There are four matches left for CSK, they are out of the playoff race for the second year. In IPL 2025, CSK has become the first team to be out of the victim of merit. They never lost from qualifying for the playoffs for two straight versions.
In fact, CSK qualified for the playoffs in every season from 2008 to 2019 before remembering the top-four in 2020. He repeated that unfortunate feat in 2022 and now missed progress in 2024 and 2025.
