‘Interview and Restore Normasi’: Bengal BJP chief writes to the governor amid violence on Waqf law

Majumdar’s letter to Bengal Governor
Hours before Majumdar’s letter to the Governor, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee reacted to the ongoing violence in the state, saying, “No one should play a game with religion.” He urged the protesters to maintain peace amidst religious tensions.
“Nobody should play a game with religion. Dharma means devotion, affection, humanity, peace, peace, culture, culture, harmony, and unity. Love is one of the highest emotions of any religion. We are born alone and we die alone, so why fight? Why fights, war, or disturbance why?” Banerjee said.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) clashed with the police in Bhanghar in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Monday evening.
This led to many injuries and torches of many police vehicles. The COPS stopped the ISF supporters from joining the Rally of the Anti-Waqf (Amendment) Act, when the party leader and Bhanghar MLA Naushad Siddiq was addressing the Ramlila Maidan in Kolkata.
