Indigo doubles wide body order by confirming the order for 30 and Airbus A350s

New Delhi: IndiGo Sunday doubled its comprehensive body aircraft order by confirming the option of 30 wide body Airbus A350s. Now the airline has 60 A350s on the firm order and has more than 40 options. “We have signed MOU with Airbus to confirm the option of 30 A350s. Their delivery begins in 2027, “Airline CEO Peter Albers said at the IATA AGM on Sunday.“The delivery of the initial 30 A350s will begin in the last year’s order 2027 and will continue until the early part of the next decade. The next batch (out of 30) will start after that and will continue well in the second half of the next decade,” said Alber. In May last May, IndiGo gave a firm order for the 30 Wide Body Airbus A350 aircraft and was an option for 70 more.IndiGo started operating long halls on Wide Body Boeing 777s Turkish Airlines two years ago (hired with the operating crew), an agreement to terminate it within three months. Next month, this Norse will begin to operate B787s leased from Atlantic to Manchester and Amsterdam.Now as IndiGo has to eliminate wet leases with Turkey, it is deepening the relationship with other carriers so that passengers can get further connectivity from places for new destinations such as Amsterdam and Manchester. Accordingly, IndiGo, Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic Sunday announced a plan to form a partnership connecting India with Europe and North America.IndiGo said in a statement, “The strength of the delta in North America and the reach of Air France-KLM in Europe and North America and the UK and Virgin Atlantic’s transatlantic presence have been partnered to provide wide access to the partnership by adding Indigo’s domestic network, with a wide access to the partnership.”IndiGo CEO Peter Albers said: “IndiGo has launched an ambitious journey to become a global airline by 2030.
