Indian-hero Mahendra Patel, ‘wrongly’ accused in high-profile Walmart kidnapping case, provided $ 10,000 bonds

An Indian-origin engineer Mahendra Patel has been granted bail in an attempt to kidnap a high-profile case in Georgia.

After spending 49 days in the Cobb County Jail in Georgia, Indian-origin engineer Mahendra Patel was given a $ 10,000 bond on Tuesday in the case of ‘attempt to kidnap’ high-profile Walmart, in which Patel was’ wrongly arrested and disrupted. On March 18, Mahendra Patel went to Kob County Walmart in search of Tilinol medicine for his mother. He sought help from a woman, Caroline Miller. Miller was on a motorized cart with his two children. When Miller showed him the direction where he could find his medicine, Patel caught his two -year -old son in an attempt to kidnap him; Miller alleged. But Patel said that he was just making sure that the child did not fall. Patel was arrested by Miller after registering a complaint and was behind bars, but his lawyer recently issued a surveillance footage saying that there was no force, there was no tug-off-off between them.

Mahendra Patel’s last criminal record

The prosecution on Tuesday opposed Patel’s release, which led to his last arrest for fraud and DUI. Assistant District Attorney Jason Evans said, “To clarify, not entitled to bonds as a defendant rights. It is completely at the court’s discretion of what to provide bonds.” “However, the court does not need to grant a grant, and the status of the defendant’s bond was initially determined by a magistrate judge in ‘No Bond” on the basis of adequacy of evidence at the warrant phase. “The prosecution argued that Patel was first convicted of a conspiracy to cheat the US and served the federal prison time, besides being accused for careless driving.Judge Murphy ruled that Patel would be given bonds and was not a threat to the flight risk or community. He did not even have a history of sexual harassment, said the judge and mentioned the surveillance footage that he did not run away from Walmart and was not running away. As part of bond conditions, Patel is not allowed to use drugs or alcohol and cannot contact alleged victims or her family, or visit Walmart.
