New Delhi: Underlining India’s zero-oppression policy against terrorism, the Foreign Minister called Jaishankar to fly a fierce combat in the region in bilateral meetings with his Central Asian counterparts. Jaishankar had bilateral meetings on the 4th India-Central Asia dialogue with Kazakhstan Foreign Ministers, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan which will be held on Friday.The minister thanked his counterparts for expressing solidarity with India on the issue of terrorism and condemning danger in all its forms and expressions. Jaishankar also discussed ways to increase trade, investment and connectivity between India and Central Asia.“Discharged various aspects of our strategic partnership focusing on political, trade, investment and energy cooperation.” He also spoke to wider the connectivity with the Central Asia region, “the minister said after a meeting with his Kazakhstan Counterpart Murrat Nurtalu.Similarly, after a meeting with Rashid Meerdov of Turkmenistan, Jaishankar particularly appreciated a warm exchange for deepening cooperation in business, investment, connectivity, health and energy fields. “All his forms and expressions welcome their strong condemnation of terrorism,” he said.Speaking at the India-Central Asia Trade Program, the minister said that while the mutual trade was less than $ 500 million a decade ago, now it was shot up to about $ 2 billion. “However, this figure does not reflect the entire capacity. The need to address it today is even more important due to the uncertainties of the international economy and for this the government and businesses need to work together,” he said.
