IMD issues severe storm and electricity warnings in 8 states

New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for wide weather severe thunderstorms, lightning strikes, Its destructionAnd Heavy rain In many regions in India. Residents of the affected areas are advised to take precautions and avoid non-essential travel.

The department referred to the possibility of “severe thunderstorms with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightening” along with the possibility of hailstorm throughout the region.
The IMD has also flagged the possibility of strong winds reaching 50-60 kmph on Assam and Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka, and Uttarakhand.
The winds between 40–50 km per hour are also expected at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himmiman West Bengal and Sikkim.
Hail warnings have been issued for separate areas in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Sub-Himmiman West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttarakhand.
Heavy rainfall in Odisha and South Interior Karnataka is likely to reach different places.
From Fatebh, the Nagpur office of IMD has issued warnings with light rains in the Nagpur office of Ola and lightning, gusti winds (40–50 km per hour), and Gondia, Bhandara, Nagpur and Wardha. In Amravati, Yavatmal, Washim, and Chandrapur districts, thunderstorms can also appear with power, esoteric winds (30–40 km per hour), and thunderstorms with light rain.
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 78 mm rainfall till 8:30 am on Friday-1901, the second maximum 24-hour of May.
