Delhi International Airport Limited (Dial) has started testing to transfer check-in items to connect passengers between T3 (IGIA’s only international terminal) and all domestic T1. This week the T1 will be completely operational and then the T2 will be closed for repair. Although the transfer between T3 and T1 is still a few years away with an air train – at a time when the traffic is increasing thanks to the large -scale network expansion by the Air India Group and IndiGo when adding traffic – a major pain point for passengers. To transfer between domestic-internal or vice versa, slightly less painful, dial plan to ensure the accessories of some passengers to ensure the goods, without being necessary to carry them in buses without being necessary to carry them in buses.
So far, international arrival at Delhi Airport will have to complete its immigration and do check-in goods to re-connect customs withdrawal. Dial CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said last Friday, “Dial is testing for smooth transfer of cabin goods from T3 to T1 for passengers coming from international destinations and is a connecting flight to T1.” Jaipuriyar said that once the new system is implemented, after customs withdrawal, passengers will not have to carry goods in T1. Jaipuriyar said that they could leave the goods on the T3, and the respective airline will transfer it to the T1 via airside.
Dial has told the Ministry of Civil Aviation that the transfer of passengers will be completed in 120 minutes to add flights from T1 to T3. The number of transfer traffic is expected to increase and is not associated with air train with T1 & T3 in addition to 7-kimi, smooth connection is a distant dream so far. “We are committed to the government that it will be ensured that passengers can fly in T3 in 120 minutes coming out of T1,” he said.
