‘I said that there should be no immediate war with Pakistan’: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah clarified his ‘no war’ comment. Bengaluru News

New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday made it clear that 26 people died after the deadly Pahgam terror attack with Pakistan.
In a statement shared through news agency ANI, Siddaramaiah said, “I mentioned that war is unavoidable, but should be with Pakistan. I did not say that there should be no war. It should be the responsibility of the central government to ensure security. In the incident of Pahgam, 26 people lost their lives. I said that there should be no immediate war.”
The dispute erupted after Siddaramaiah, speaking in Mysuru on Saturday, said that India should not participate in the war with Pakistan and should focus on strengthening instead Safety measures,
He said, “We are not in favor of war. There should be peace, and the central government should ensure that people feel safe,” he said strict security steps should have been implemented in the region.
Criticizing the Center for Security Laps, Siddaramaiah said that the attack took place in a major tourist area, where security should have been given priority. He mentioned the 2019 Pulwama terror attack and said,
“In the same region, 40 soldiers were first martyred. Both intelligence and security failures. The central government failed to provide adequate security.”
The Chief Minister of Karnataka also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not attending all the party meeting called after the attack.

Reacting strongly, the leader of the protest R Ashok accused Siddaramaiah of lack of basic understanding of national security despite his long political career. “It is the misfortune of Karnataka that with a 40 -year experience, the two -time CM does not know what to say in important moments,” Ashok said.
He further alleged that Siddaramaiah’s comments gave “a direct challenge for India’s sovereignty and dignity” and accused of playing in the hands of the enemy at a time when unity was important.
Ashok said, “In such a sensitive time, the nation should rise above politics and speak in one voice,” given that the national leadership of the Congress also supported the functions of the Center.
The BJP accused Siddaramaiah of acting like an enemy nation’s “puppet”, especially with high -running tension along the border.
