New Delhi: East West Bengal BJP President and senior leader Dilip Ghosh married party ally Rinku Mazumdar On Friday at a private ceremony at his new city residence near Kolkata. Wearing traditional Bengali dress and a formal ‘Topor’, Ghosh appeared in front of the media after rituals and thanked the well -wishers including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The 60 -year -old leader said, “I thank everyone for their blessings. My personal life will not affect my political responsibilities.”
This is Ghosh’s first marriage and the second of Majumdar. He has a son of his previous wedding. The couple allegedly met during the morning walk at Eco Park in 2021 and decided to formalize their relationship during an IPL match in Kolkata earlier this month. The 51 -year -old Majumdar said, “I proposed, and I am proud that he eventually accepted.”
Senior BJP leaders, including state unit chief Sukanta Majumdar, visited the doubles to expand their greetings. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also sent flowers and a congratulatory note, although the Leader of Opposition Suvandu Officer refused to comment.
According to Vedic rituals, the wedding held was attended by only close family. Party sources said Ghosh is about to visit his hometown Kharagpur on Saturday and attend a political event in Dumdam. Asked about honeymoon plans, he took a pinch, “It will be somewhere in India.”
