New Delhi: The Center has drafted a bill, which proposes to introduce online registration of property, and registers documents such as ‘agreement’ for agreement, power of attorney, sales certificate, and justice system among others. It will replace the 117 -year Registration Act.Under the Ministry of Rural Development, the Land Resources Department has issued a draft for public comments when many states decided to amend the law to allow online registration. While the Registration Act applies across the country, the state can amend it in consultation with the center.The government is also trying to allow electronic registration certificates and records for digital maintenance of records. In addition to the entry of documents for electronic presentation and registration, the government has proposed a base-based authentication with ‘informed consent’, as well as with other verification methods for those who want to share their unique IDs as part of a practice to reduce fraud. In addition, the department said that the draft law has suggested integration with other records with other records to increase information flow efficiency.“In recent years, there is a need to create a registration structure that moves ahead with increasing use of technologies, developing socio-economic practices, and increasing dependence on registered documents,” said the Land Resource Department.
