Several schools in the German city of Duisburg remained closed as a precaution on Monday that they would be targeted with criminal action.
Police in the West German state of Northern Rhine-Westphalia stated that messages included “threatened and right-wing extremist statements”.

Police said a German comprehensive school received a letter from an unknown person on Friday. This threatened criminal action on Monday.
This school received another letter on Sunday which also had danger, but this time was connected to 13 other schools in the city.

However, state government officials suspended in-traditions in all secondary and comprehensive schools and a grammar school in Duceburg. Some of these schools will offer online classes, the officials announced.
About 17,980 children were affected in 15 extensive schools and two secondary schools.
Other schools are ready to stay open, although some parents are allowing them to decide whether to send their children to classrooms.
