New Delhi: The latest debutant from Mumbai Indians, 23-year-old Pesar Ashwani Kumar, started a dream for his IPL career, disintegrated Kolkata Knight Riders With a stunning 4-can Wankhed stadium On Monday. However, the veins got better than that before the game – so much that he had barely ate before stepping on the field.
“I’m feeling very good. I was feeling pressure quickly, but the atmosphere of the team did not feel me like this. I just had a banana because there was pressure, so I was not feeling very hungry. I had planned a little, but they asked me to enjoy myself for debut and bowling that I am bowling.”

Ashwani became the first Indian bowler to take four wickets on IPL debut, ending with 4 figures for 4 in three overs. His magic played an important role in taking out KKR for 116 in 16.2 overs.
He had immediate effect, rejecting KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane with his first IPL delivery. Their control and variations proved to be very much for the opposition, as they later rejected Manish Pandey, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh.
Ashwani credited Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya for the dismissal of Russell, “Hardik Bhai asked me to bowl and bowl on the body and it hosted a wicket.”
“In my village, everyone must be watching. They were just waiting for my beginning, and by the grace of God, I got an opportunity tonight and did well” he said, smiling proudly.
Monday marked his career for the first time that Ashwani took four wickets in a match. His previous best list was 3/37 in A cricket and 1/19 in T20.
