Harbor Island-Malbourne Beach (Florida): When Group captain Shubhinhu Shukla lands in space on the Axiom-4 (AX-4) mission for two-week stay on ISS on 10 June, it will not be a milestone for India just. For his wife Kamna, this is another chapter in a life that is quietly in shape as duty, friendship and long -term familiar.Speaking specially toi a few days before NASA’s launch from the Kennedy Space Center here, Kamna shared what the journey means – as a partner, as a parent, and as a person who has been known since childhood.
“As you go on this incredible journey, I am very proud of you. You are not just reaching the stars, you are motivating many of us to bring back home. Just shine bright and perform your best, as you always do.”
Message of wishing to shock
“It was in early 2020,” he recalled, when it first felt real that Shukla could actually go into space. “One of the criteria for Gaganan’s aspirations was that they had to test the pilots. It is a small community that we were abolished, because whatever it is, it will be known for us. That small idea has now become an incredible reality.”At home, Shaks is a man of regular and calm resolutions. “He loves his workouts, non-fiction books, goff with his six-year-old son. But when you talk about his fearlessness, he took immense risks. He left his life as a fighter pilot and stepped into the unwanted world of spaceflight. Among the rest of the AX-4 crew, Kamna said they are now more than allies. “They call themselves friends for life. Their experience in microgravity will bind him forever. I am very happy that Shax found these friends – and all of them like our son Sid.”Kamna and Shukla met for the first time in primary school. “We have studied together since class 3. We have been the best friends. I have known him as Gunjan, as Shubhanshu – shy man in our classroom – who is now inspiring so many people.”But marrying someone on this path means living with distance and missing the meer. “These things become heavy, especially the Shaus recalls the early childhood of Sid. I believe that when he grows, he will be super proud when he grows.”Asked how she wants Sid want to remember this time, Kamna said: “I will tell her that her father was one. I have not thought about the day of launch. We go with the flow. We are full of gratitude. We will take it as soon as it will come.”
