Ferozepur Cantonment operates blackout drill amidst India-Pak tension increasing

New Delhi: Ferozepur Cantonment carried out a 30 -minute blackout rehearsal on Sunday night amid increasing tension between India and Pakistan.
Exercise, which took place from 9 pm to 9:30 pm, was aimed at testing preparations to implement blackout processes during the period of safety hazards.
Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) cut the power for 30 minutes, while the hooters were constantly looking throughout the drill.

Gurjant Singh, Show, Ferozepur Cantt Police Station said, “Blackout was done from 9 am to 9:30 pm. According to the orders of senior officials, the lights were completely closed. If any vehicle was found with their light, it was closed … The police is completely alert. The deployment is made on all intervention.”
Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma assured that the practice was part of regular preparations and specified that there was no need to panic. “The administration is completely cautious and ready to respond if necessary,” he said.

The Border Security Force also carried forward its patrols along the international border, while the Punjab Police established posts at prominent places as a precautionary measure.
