Families accused of ‘fake encounter’ after three missing men were found dead in Balochistan

A fresh wave of suspected fake encounters in Balochistan has led to public anger, as the rights activists accused the security forces of the detained killing people and staging incidents. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday claimed that it had killed three militants in an operation in Tang Kiryar area of Barkhan district. The bodies of Abdul Rahman Buzdar, Farid Buzdar and Sultan Marri were later transferred to Rakni’s Basic Health Unit Hospital. However, families of the deceased and Baloch rights groups strongly disputed the official account. He said that the three had been missing for all three months, the victims of disappearance, and insisted that the encounter was fake. The activists alleged that “men were executed after being kept in illegal custody.” A CTD spokesman said that men died during the exchange of fire and the weapon was recovered from the spot. But this version of events has been widely rejected. In a separate incident, another youth, Gaus Bakhsh, were found dead in Kolwah tehsil of Avaran district. He was reportedly called to a nearby military camp, and his body was discovered a few hours later, with visible signs of torture. This added increasing doubts of custodial murders. The Balochistan post reported both incidents, stating that deaths follow the patterns seen in other districts such as Dukki, Ziarat and Quetta. Even in cases, the individuals who had previously gone missing, were later officially described as security operations.Human rights groups and Baloch activists say that these cases indicate a disturbed tendency to state -led violence. They are calling for independent investigation and international attention to ensure accountability. “This is part of a systematic campaign,” said a right preacher. “There must be the end of impurities,” he said.
