Dutch Master France returns to the Netherland

The Hague: A pair of paintings of Dutch Golden Edge Master Frances that possibly portray their own children, returning to the Netherlands after more than a century abroad in the hands of private owners. “Boy Playing the Violin” and “Girl Singing”, were purchased on Monday by the France Hales Museum and Mauritshuis Museum in auction at $ 7.8 million, with financial assistance from a group of Dutch government and a foundation. Painted around 1628, tasks are seen as particularly interesting, as according to museums, hals may have used their children as models. The Dutch government sees him as an important part of the country’s cultural heritage. Dutch Culture Minister Appo Brins said in a statement on Tuesday, “It is fantastic that these paintings by France Hales, now owned by a private collector abroad, are now home again”. Last year, Amsterdam’s Risksmume hosted a major exhibition of Hales’ functions, which is famous for a living and expressive manner. He spent almost the entire life of his life in the small town of Harlem, outside Amsterdam. The France Hels Museum, located in Harlem, has the largest collection of artist’s work in the world and will share the ownership of painting with Mauritshuis in Hague. The museums will show the work alternately, but will always keep both together. The paintings will be displayed in the France Hales Museum from mid -July and will go to Mauritshuis in the fall. A joint custody agreement for artwork is not new to the Netherlands. In 2015, the Netherlands and France jointly bought another pair of work by the 17th -century Dutch Master, Reeramant Van Region, and swaps the pictures every five years. Newlywed Marten Solns and Opjen Copit’s life-shaped portraits were first displayed in the resximume and went to Paris in Paris last year.
