DMK announced Rajya Sabha candidates, Kamal Haasan that Chennai News to make parliamentary debut

Chennai: DMK on Wednesday announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, slate for June 19.Among the four seats for tombs, the ruling party has named its three candidates, alloting a seat to its ally, Makkal Needi Mayam (MNM) paves the way to enter the Parliament of Kama, the actor-royalty. In a statement, DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the seat-sharing arrangement was made with MNM as “first agree”. DMK candidates include MP and senior advocate Pilson, Salem East District Secretary and former MLA SR Sivalingam, and party spokesperson and noted writer Rokakia Malik, known as poet Salma. A former additional Solicitor General Wilson was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2019. Civalingam first served as a DMK MLA in 1989 and 1996, while Salma, a long -time party, contested in the 2006 assembly elections, but failed. The party’s candidate list reflects a diverse social creation. While Salma belongs to the Muslim community, Wilson is Christian, and Civalingam is a Hindu – a balance supervisors say that underlines the inclusive political message of the DMK. MNM, meanwhile, formally Kamal Haasan was nominated as his nominated after the party’s executive and administrative committees on Wednesday. His nomination comes as part of the forged DMK-MNM understanding during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The upcoming Rajya Sabha election is required for MPs M Shanmugam, M Mohammad Abdullah, and Pilson from DMK to the end of the conditions from MDMK to Vaiko. The term of PMK leader and outgoing MP Ambumani Ramdos is also ready to end. DMK is the first major party in Tamil Nadu to announce its candidates. Major protests, AIADMK, are expected to win two seats with their current strength in the assembly, its nominees are not yet named. The nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections was closed on 9 June, in which the next day was investigated. Voting will be held on June 19 and the results will be declared later that evening.
