DKS refused to leave as head of Karnataka Congress, Turf War Intensifes | Bharat News

Bengaluru: Karnataka Vice President DK Shivkumar has refused to step into the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), the President has intensified the internal strength struggle within the party, even the leadership in Delhi has indicated that it is supporting them – at least for now.
Shivkumar, who returned to Bengaluru after a two -day visit to Delhi, is said to have strongly aware of the high command of the Congress that he will not renounce the party’s post until he is assured the Chief Minister.
Sources said that the high command in turn has informed CM Siddaramaiah and his cabinet loyalists who are pressurizing Shivkumar to remove, that at the end of this year there will be no leadership change in the state unit before the upcoming district and taluk panchayat elections.
Observers believe that Shivkumar is closely linked to his goal of becoming CM on maintaining the KPCC post. While abandoning this, they say, can weaken their profit within the party.
Political analyst Vishwas Shetty said, “There is a one -up -a base between two stalls -Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to control the state unit of Congress. Shivkumar’s KPCC chief’s position is seen as a step to balance these power equations.”
The campaign to remove Shivkumar under the leadership of a group of ministers close to Siddaramaiah, including Kan Rajanna K Kan Rajanna, was based on the “One Man, One Post” principle of the party. But this movement lost speed after a honeytrap dispute that shook the political establishment. Rajanna’s open entry said that he was one of the 48 politicians targeted in the alleged conspiracy, forced to have a temporary stagnation in the campaign.
Unpublished by internal dissatisfaction, Shivkumar has claimed that leadership roles should be earned. He said, “KPCC posts are not available in shops, nor can they be obtained by talking to the media,” he said in response to his critics.
Public Works Minister Satish Jerkiholi, who has emerged as a major aspiration to the top KPCC role, has publicly pushed for leadership change. “AICC is a written note with General Secretary (Organization) and MP KC Venugopal that is on change KPCC President After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, “Jerkiholi stressed that a dedicated President is important for building the grassroots support before the 2028 assembly elections.”
