Salman Khan was paid Rs 10 crore more than Govinda for ‘Partner’, writer Alok Upadhyay shows Hindi film news

In 2007, Bollywood gave us one of their most liked comedy films-Partner. Starring Salman Khan, Govinda, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta, everything in the film was – laughter, romance, music, and of course, unbeatable bromance between Salman and Govinda.
Directed by David Dhawan, ‘Partner’ was not just a hit at the box office, but also entertained millions. What happened behind the curtain was just entertaining. Now, writer Alok Upadhyay has dropped the beans at a particularly funny moment during the shoot of the song ‘Soni de Nakhre’ – and it is all about two superstars, a choreographer is obsessed with legs, and a director who was not any of it.
Salman and Govinda charged this amount for ‘partner’
By the time the ‘partner’ rolled here and there, both Salman Khan and Govinda were very big names in the industry. So it is no surprise that he jointly charged Rs 15 crore for the film, in which Salman allegedly received Rs 10 crore and Govinda Rs 5 crore.
Speaking to YouTube channel Lightscameramramasti, writer Alok Upadhyay praised director David Dhawan’s sharp eye and his control over the entire shoot. Alok said, “He keeps an eye on everyone together during the shoot and already knows how he will edit the scene.”
He also said that David Dhawan’s understanding of commercial cinema was so strong, he could do any actor he wanted. But things were not always smoothly, especially during the shoot of chartbuster song ‘Soni de Nakhre’.
“15 crore actor actor Tanga Deepai Jaane Hain”
Alok remembered how Dhawan was not happy when the choreographer kept shooting for a long shot focusing on the feet of the stars. “David saheb, I have an actor of Beth Bolte Han 10 crores and I was 5 crores.
Then the filmmaker decided to take the cases into his hands and asked the choreographer to stop wasting time with decorative shots. He wanted him to focus on the stars, where it was. David allegedly told the crew, “who allegedly told the crew of 2 costs of 15 crores, Han Enclose Mir,” David allegedly. (Get those close-ups of two major men, not their knees!). Upadhyay shared that David quickly worked the shot again and just asked the actors to talk, and the results? One of the most loving dance numbers!
