Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin has decided to contact Telangana High Court to challenge Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Ombdsman’s order directed to remove his name from North Stand Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium,
Justice, Justic (Retd) was passed by V.svaraiah – which also serves as the morality officer of HCA – was based on a petition filed by Lords Cricket ClubA member unit of HCA. The petition accused Azaruddin, during his tenure HCA PresidentIn December 2019, without proper general body permissive support, he was pushed to the name of the stand and misused his position.

“I will definitely take a legal resort and appeal to the High Court to remain this order. It is a shame that it is being asked to remove the name of an India captain,” Azharuddin told PTI, saying that Lokpal’s term has ended in February 2025 and any order is beyond that date.

He said, “He has not received an extension, which can only be given during an AGM, which is not even gone,” he said.

Azharuddin, who served as HCA President from 2019 to 2023, alleged that the current administration is targeting him not to allow corrupt practices during his tenure. “The crooks, who have never kept a bat in their lives, are pointing fingers on me,” he said.

He further dismissed the allegations that he removed the name of VVS Laxman from the stand. “Lackman’s name is still on the pavilion. Go and check,” he said.
Azharuddin also targeted the current HCA president Jagan Mohan Rao, in which the players were disrespected and the administration of mismanagement was accused. He warned, “I will not lie these insults.”
