New Delhi: An army soldier was killed after a large -scale encounter in Udampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the soldier suffered serious injuries in the initial exchange and later died due to injuries.
White Knight Corps said, “On the basis of specific intelligence, a joint campaign with the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched today in Basantgarh, Udampur. The contact was established and a fierce fire broke out,” said White Knight Corps.

Meanwhile, the Romeo force of the Indian Army, along with the Special Operations Group (SOG), continued its joint operations on Thursday in the forest areas of Lasana in Pinch district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the 10th consecutive day efforts to locate terrorists.
The operation began on 15 April after the exchange of fire with terrorists on the previous day. The forces have closed the area and are making extensive discoveries through dense forests. A security personnel were injured in the exchange of fire near Lasana village located along the national highway between Poonch and Jammu.
In response to the increased security situation, the authorities have increased vigilance with the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonach highway, in which the traffic police have operated a check on local vehicles. Officer Ahmed Deen confirmed that no loaded trucks were allowed to pass to stop the crowd, with 24/7 posts operated by the traffic police, district police and army.
