Cricket news passes through Captain overhaul in West Indies Test and T20IS

Shake-up under a major leadership, Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Monday confirmed a change in its captaincy roles in forms. Kraigg Brathwaite has stepped as a Test captain, while OD Skipper Shai Hope has been given the reins of T20I side in place of Rovman Powell.
Brathwaite, who led the West Indies in 39 Test matches since 2017, decided to step aside for a new phase. His successor is yet to be nominated and will work in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Bicycle (2025-27) before the first assignment of the West Indies, which will begin with a domestic series against Australia.

Meanwhile, the current ODI captain, Shai Hope is assigned with the T20I captaincy, indicating a new approach in the smallest format. Hope replaced Roveman Powell, who had led the side since 2022. This step comes as a Windies to build a malignant team ahead of the ICC. T20 World Cup 2026,
