FATF Slam Pahalgam attack: ‘Can’t be without money’. Bharat News

New Delhi: Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has condemned the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahgam, killing 26 people in targeted murders, which is seen as a rare comment on such severe acts.A statement issued by the Anti-Terrorism Financing Watchdog said, “On April 22, 2025, the cruel terrorist attacks in Pahgam and this, along with other recent attacks, and other recent attacks are condemned, and there cannot be money and means to transfer money between terrorist supporters.”FATF’s comments come at a time when India has approached the agency established in 1989, including the latest Pahalgam attack, for the continuous support of terrorist activities in India against Pakistan.

Soon after the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government launched a campaign against multilateral aid to Pakistan and demanded that it be brought back to FATF’s ‘gray list’, demanding the funding to choke, of which it came out only three years ago.We should unite, no authority or country can compete with terrorism alone: FATFPakistan was on the ‘Gray List’ by 2022, where it was placed through an increased investigation of its global financial transactions to not follow adequate safety measures in its financial system to deal with money laundering and terror finance.Calling for joint action by the global community against the sponsors of terror, FATF said, “No company, authority, or country alone can compete with this challenge. We should be unified against the global terrorism crisis. Because terrorists only need to succeed to achieve their goals, while we have to succeed every time to stop it.”It further stated that since terrorism continued to threaten societies and citizens around the world, FATF supported more than 200 courts within its global network and made one of the most powerful equipment to destroy terrorist financing networks, including strategic use of financial intelligence to increase and enhance its terrorism (CFT) measures. The agency emphasized the increased focus of FATF, focusing on the effectiveness of countries, imposed through its mutual evaluation to ensure that a strong structure was developed to combat terrorist financing.FATF stated that it would soon release a comprehensive analysis of terrorist financing, compiling cases provided by “our global network”.
