China puts military pressure on Taiwan with 70 warships, 75 jets in May amid threat of invasion

Taaipei: Beiped last month sent two aircraft carrier strike groups and several warships for both the north and south of Taiwan, as noted by a Taiwani security officer, amid growing tension between China and Taiwan, as reported by the Eurasian Times.From 1 May to 27 May, about 70 Chinese ships, including naval vessels, were tracked from Yellow Sea to South China Sea, according to a security officer who requested oblivion. The Eurasian Times reported that in recent years, China has intensified the deployment of warships and fighter jets around Taiwan, with pressure on Taipei.China has not dismissed the possibility of using military force to bring Taiwan under its control, thereby threatening the attack on the island. The security officer quoted the Eurasian Times as saying, “Their military activities and gray-zone operations include adequate deployment throughout the island chain, which represents a strategy of comprehensive maximum pressure.”“On an average, work between 50 to 70 navies and government ships has been worked, as well as hundreds of flights by various military aircraft, persistent harassment missions.” Some ships traveled to the Western Pacific Ocean via Miyako Strait for “long-range training, including integrated Air-C exercises”, quoted by the Eurasian Times.On May 19, an additional 30 unnamed Chinese ships, a lack of documents, or a port of the registry, were seen near the Penghu Islands of Taiwan in Taiwan Strait and “deliberately deployed to intimidate,” made official comments. Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said that during the month a total of 75 Chinese aircraft near the island participated in three “fighter readiness”, as exposed by the Eurasian Times.These actions by China were a sign of a “military expansion” attempt, which aims to “control the entire island chain and increase their abilities,” the official said.
