The IPL said in a statement, “Glenn Maxwell accepted the crime of level 1 under Article 2.2 and accepted the approval of the match referee.”
“For the level 1 violations of the code of conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding,” the statement said.
Article 2.2 of the IPL’s code of conduct is related to cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or misuse of fittings “during a match.
Maxwell succeeded in scoring just one run with the bat, but took the important wicket of CSK opener Rachin Ravindra to break the inaugural looking wicket partnership.
