Center rejected J&K Govt’s opposition to deploy 4,000 ex -servicemen to protect important sites

Srinagar: The Union Government has rejected the objection of PDP chief Mehboba Mufti’s J&K Govt, which has approved the gathering of 4,000 ex -servicemen, which is in high trained and best position to retired army personnel to complete the task.Mehboba had asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to reconsider the initiative and instead recruiting local people.The Sainik Welfare Board of Jammu and Kashmir had proposed to raise ex-servicemen to protect the important infrastructure and approved it by the government.In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Mehboba said that while the service of military giants is respected, static guard duties do not require military expertise and can be effectively controlled by trained local youth. “Such employment can be an important lifeline for educated but unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir. Giving priority to retired soldiers, many of whom already receive pension, the unemployed young people have the risk of deepening the spirit of isolation,” written in Mehbooba’s letter.Mehboba called for a more inclusive model to reconsider the administration, or to clarify the logic behind the minimum policy, to solve security and socio-economic challenges in Jammu and Kashmir.“This growing unemployment is not just an economic issue, but a social emergency. With some occasions, with some occasions, many young drug addiction are in the grip of addiction and,, sadly, some are also motivated to commit suicide. We must come to their defense to pay more attention to their future.”National Conference spokesman Tanveer Sadiq said that the issue was beyond the jurisdiction of the UT government as it came under security related expenditure (SRE).BJP spokesperson Arun Gupta rejected Mahboba Mufti’s opposition. He said that the Indian Army has shaped these people as highly capable soldiers trained to fulfill any incident. The BJP spokesperson said, “We are very lucky as a nation for such manpower at our disposal.”The spokesperson said, “We should recognize unmatched training and discipline with these personnel. Their deployment in sensitive civil establishments is not only logical, it is necessary. Security is not about hardware today alone; it’s about the right people with the right experience,” the spokesman said.He said that this initiative was not taken out overnight. He said, “It has a three -year careful plan, approval and evaluation. The government has worked with discussion and responsibility, and the result reflects a strategic view for both safety and use of manpower,” he said.
