‘Captain MS Dhoni is back’: Internet goes after confirming CSK

New Delhi: The iconic yellow jersey will once again be led by its favorite person – none other than MS Dhoni.
Chennai Super Kings confirmed on Thursday that the current captain Ruturaj Gaikawad has been dropped from the remaining IPL 2025 Due to a fragmented elbow, paved the way for Dhoni’s dramatic return as captain.
The news broke the CSK much awaited domestic clash against Kolkata Knight Riders a day before, sent fans to an emotional tornado.
Announcing development, Head Coach Stephen Fleming said, “Ruturaj Gikwad has been dropped from the IPL with a fracture on his elbow. MS Dhoni will take over as captain for the rest of the season.”

Social media platforms are burnt within a few minutes of confirmation.
Dhoni’s indifferent tribute to the emotional throback of his previous pride, fans praised the return of “Captain Cool”, because there was nothing less than poetic.
Dhoni, who handed over the captaincy to Gaikwad before the 2024 season, led CSK for five IPL titles: in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2018, 2021 and 2023.
His leadership heritage is unmatched in IPL history, and his return injects a new wave of Asha in CSK’s campaign.
This is not the first time Dhoni has returned to save the franchise.
In 2022, he reclaimed the season of captaincy from Ravindra Jadeja after a thick start.
Now, with Ruturaj bypassing, Dhoni once again steps into the spotlight – not only as a player, but as a leader as fans.
With vision in the playoffs, everyone’s eyes will be on “tala” because he sees the script, yet his already is another famous chapter in the prestigious CSK trip.
