Canada’s latest express entry draw explained: New immigrants wanted, but only through provinces

Canada continues to open its doors for skilled migrants, but selectively. On 28 April, Immigration, refugee and citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued through (ITAS) to issue 421 invitations Provincial enrolled program (PNP) -Specific draw, with minimum Comprehensive ranking mechanism (CRS) score of 727. Applicants were required to present their express entry profile before UTC at 5:11 pm on September 9, 2024, as reported by CIC News.
It marks the second PNP-centered draw in April after the April 14 round, with 825 ITAs with a high CRS cut-off of 764. This focuses a continuous focus on the provincial nominations as Canada navigates its 2025 immigration preferences.
So far this year, 31,929 ITAs have been issued, mostly to PNP and French speaking applicants. In particular, no general draw or not Canadian experience class (CEC) Rounds were held in April. The final CEC-specific draw took place on 5 February, outlining the government’s change towards targeted, category-based choices.
Canada’s broad immigration plan is ambitious. The 2025-2027 immigration level scheme aims to welcome 395,000 new permanent residents this year, including 232,150 spots allocated to economic migrants, including express entry systems.
For successful applicants, the program also spreads to family members, spouses, general law partners and dependent children, who can be included in the PR application. Later, parents and grandparents can be sponsored or invited through super visa programs.
