While Canada avoided 10 percent of the baseline tariffs imposed on several other countries, 25 percent of US duty on imported automobiles, implemented at midnight, will greatly affect the Canadian motor vehicle sector.
In addition to implementing mutual tariffs, Carney indicated that the government is challenging these duties through legal channels and contacted the World Trade Organization to combat the violation of the tariff of international trade rules.
